If you have legally changed your name and it does not appear on your proof of vaccination, download and print a new copy of your proof of vaccination. To verify a customer's proof of vaccination, you can use the BC Vaccine Card Verifier app. This app allows you to scan the customer's QR code, which can be presented on their mobile device or a physical printout. A QR code is a square-shaped image that functions as a type of bar code readable by digital devices. B.C. employs the SMART Health Card QR code format as mandated by the federal government. It is important to note that the QR code only contains the bare minimum of information and is not linked to other health records.

You can download the BC Vaccine Card Verifier app from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is compatible with smartphones and tablets and can be obtained free of charge. After the download is complete, you can utilize the app without an internet connection. Simply grant the app access to your device's camera.

The QR code serves as a personal document, prohibiting the capturing of a customer's proof of vaccination through photography, even with their consent. Should a customer express concerns about privacy, the following information can be provided:

  • The BC Vaccine Card Verifier app refrains from storing any data.
