What is the Canadian Export Reporting System?
The Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) is an online tool designed to support the export of commercial goods from Canada by enabling businesses to submit electronic declarations to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
How to Register Your Business Account in CERS?
Before you can start using CERS, you must first register your business in the system by filling out the Exporter Reporting Application Form. You can find this form on the canada.ca website by searching for its reference number: BSF831.
Once you've downloaded the form by clicking on the PDF link, fill it out and submit it to the email address provided at the bottom of page 2: [email protected].
Once your application is approved, you'll receive an email from CBSA containing a Shared Secret code to activate your business account. Customs Service Providers must complete a separate application form for each exporter they represent.
To register your business account in CERS, follow these simple steps:
- Step 1: Log in to your CERS user account and select "Business Accounts" from the Welcome page.
- Step 2: Select "Create Business Account."
- Step 3: Submit your Business Number, including the RM account number.
- Step 4: Submit the Shared Secret code provided in the email from CBSA.
- Step 5: Fill out the Account Owner information.
Step 6: A page will appear showing the details of the business you are adding. Click "continue."
Step 7: You have now successfully added a new business account to CERS. Click "ok" to see the information of the Account Owner and the Business.
You're all set! Your business account is now ready to use in CERS.
