Current Status: Closed
If you have been a recipient of the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit (CWLB) during any period from 1 to 9 in 2021, it is crucial to file your 2021 taxes by December 31, 2022. Failure to do so will result in you being liable to repay the entirety of the CWLB amount you have received for every period in 2021. For further information, visit Regional COVID-19 lockdown periods.
The Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit (CWLB) was a temporary income support program for employed and self-employed individuals who were unable to work during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
The CWLB was only available in areas with a designated COVID-19 lockdown order. If you were eligible for the CWLB, you could have received up to $300 ($270 after tax withholding) for each one-week period.
The CWLB was active in designated regions from October 24, 2021 until May 7, 2022. The last day to apply for the CWLB was May 18, 2022.
