The Best Imitation of Tim Hortons' Iced Capps

While we appreciate a good cappuccino as much as the next person, we must admit that holding a steaming mug of coffee on a hot summer day can be downright unpleasant.

Here, the Tim Hortons Iced Capps Recipe comes in handy. To beat the heat and give you a much-needed caffeine boost, try this blended coffee drink served cold. The bad news is that Tim Hortons is only available in a handful of American states and Canada.

Those of us who don't happen to reside in close proximity to any of these cafes need not feel left out of the Iced Capp trend. If you want to make a refreshing iced beverage at home, try our take on Tim Hortons' Iced Capps.

Tim Hortons Iced Capps Recipe

A question about the Iced Capp

Blended iced cappuccinos, or Iced Capps, are a refreshing treat for coffee lovers who need something cold and sweet to get them through the afternoon.

Espresso, ice cubes, and cream are blended together to form the original Iced Capp, which is similar to a slushie. On the other hand, customers can alter the drink to their liking by substituting two percent milk for the cream and adding syrups like vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate, or cookies 'n cream. If you prefer, you can ask for a dairy-free version of your drink made with almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk.

Tim Hortons' Vanilla Iced Capp Instructions

Tim Hortons Iced Capps Recipe If you're a Canadian and you don't like iced coffee, you're not a real Canadian, @roastycoffee. Hozier - Someone New #icedcapp #icedcoffeerecipe

  In Order To,

  • 1 mug of jolting espresso
  • Three Tablespoons of Rich Brown Sugar
  • Extract of vanilla, 1 tablespoon
  • Just a drop of vanilla syrup, please
  • Add a half cup of your preferred creamer.
  • ice cubes
  • blender
  • tall glass

It Works Like This:

Step 1:

Mix coffee, vanilla syrup, vanilla extract, and dark brown sugar in a tall glass. Then you need to give the coffee and sugar a good stir to get the sugar granules to dissolve. The choice of coffee is a matter of personal preference; regular coffee, cold brew coffee, or even a couple of espresso shots will do the trick.

Step 2:

The next step is to blend the sugary vanilla coffee with some creamer and ice cubes. We want a slushy consistency, so if you're going to use a high-powered blender, make sure to pulse it frequently so the ice doesn't melt. Ultimately, it's up to you, but we used an oat milk-based creamer in our beverage.

Pouring the sweet, vanilla-infused coffee mixture into a blender, add creamer and a few cubes of ice

Step 3:

After the coffee has been blended, serve it in a tall glass and enjoy.

A Few Adjustments to the Recipe

There is a lot of leeway in the Tim Hortons Iced Capp recipe, which is why it's so great. Some easy variations on the classic coffee drink are listed below.

  • Cubes of coffee can be used. When regular ice cubes melt, they leave behind watered-down disappointment. But that's not a problem at all thanks to coffee ice cubes, which are made by freezing coffee in ice trays. When melted, they enhance the coffee's flavor even more. No need to worry about returning to a watered-down Iced Capp if you have to put the glass down for a moment.
  • Combining chocolate and sugar We provide instructions for a vanilla-flavored drink, but if chocolate is more your speed, feel free to substitute chocolate milk for the cream or chocolate syrup for the vanilla in our copycat recipe. You aren't interested in either chocolate or vanilla. Don't worry about it; just switch to a different flavored syrup.
  • Offer an alternative incentive Don't use brown sugar if you and your sweet tooth don't enjoy it. In its place, sprinkle some white sugar on top, or add a few tablespoons of maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Use full-fat milk or cream instead of creamer. How your morning or afternoon beverage turns out depends on the creamer you use. Use heavy cream in place of creamer to make your version of this tasty treat extra creamy. A half cup of milk, however, can be added to the mixture to make it thinner.
  • Remove all dairy from your diet. Even if you're a strict vegan, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy an Iced Capp. Replace the cream with almond, coconut, or oat milk, or any other milk alternative you like, and you'll have a delicious alternative to the traditional version of this Tim Hortons favorite.
  • Instant coffee is the way to go. The time has come to finally open that box of instant coffee granules that has been collecting dust in your cupboard. Complaints about the bitter or overpowering flavor of instant coffee are common. The just-add-water brew isn't particularly tasty on its own, but the addition of cream, vanilla syrup, and ice does wonders.
