Simple to prepare and delicious on their own, these grilled potatoes are the perfect complement to grilled steak, chicken, or salmon.
Grilling vegetables in foil (similar to baking potatoes in foil) is a favorite technique of ours because it is quick, easy, and requires very little cleanup. These red potatoes, cooked on the grill, are no different.
Recipe for Grilled Potatoes (in foil)
It takes only about 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook these fantastic grilled potatoes. Today, we will be using the foil pack method, in which all of the ingredients are arranged on a sheet of foil before being sealed with a second sheet of foil and then cooked on the grill. As a bonus, there's less mess to clean up afterward.
First, clean a 1-pound by cutting red potatoes into eighths Simply halve the potatoes, then cut each half in half again. Red potatoes are our go-to because their bite size is just right and their skin isn't as rough as that of other potato varieties. By placing the potatoes in a large plastic bag, you can easily toss them around in the olive oil and seasonings. In this way, you can coat the potatoes thoroughly by sealing the bag and shaking them. The amazing grilled potatoes only had a few simple spices added:
- Powdered Onions
- powdered garlic
- Spices from Italy
- seasonings (salt and pepper)

After the potatoes have been liberally sprinkled with seasoning, it's time to wrap them in foil. I can now confidently fold foil packs. It will get easier the more you do it, trust me
- Set out a sheet of sturdy foil (or two pieces of regular foil) on the kitchen counter.
- Then, spread the potatoes, oil, and seasonings out on the foil.
- Put another sheet of foil on top and fold the four sides in to make a pack.
- Finally, use a fork to puncture some holes in the top of your foil packet. This will guarantee a consistent meal.

Red potatoes in foil packets should be grilled at 400 degrees. Put the foil packet directly over the fire and close the grill lid. Cook on the grill for 20 minutes, or until a fork can easily be inserted into a potato.
Grilling near the flames at a higher temperature is the best way to get grill marks and a crispier potato. This is how you get that incredible char flavor. Don't forget the olive oil! This will also aid in tightening things up.

Should I pre-boil the potatoes or just grill them?
Because the foil pack generates steam, the potatoes can be grilled without first being boiled.
What if I can't find a spot out of the sun's glare?

- Heavy-duty foil is recommended to avoid oil leakage into the grill. Use of two sheets of foil is also an option.
