To initiate the programming process for your Atlas/Backlit remote control, you must first turn on the device you wish to program with the remote (e.g., your television, audio system, Blu-Ray or DVD player). Once the device is powered on, proceed as follows:

- Find the code for your device in the user’s guide that was included with your Shaw remote, or refer to the Atlas Remote Manual.

- Press the mode key corresponding to the device you want to set up (e.g., VCR, DVD, AUD, or TV).

- Hold down the SETUP button on the remote until the mode key (VCR, DVD, AUD, or TV) flashes twice in succession.

- Enter the code obtained in step one.

- Press the POWER button on your remote to test your equipment. If the device turns off, the programming has been successful. Repeat steps 1-4 with the next code for your equipment if the device does not power off.

Master Power:

The Shaw Atlas remote can also be configured for master power, which allows the main power button to control the on/off power for all your equipment simultaneously, eliminating the need to manually select and power on/off each device individually.

To set up master power:

- Press and hold SETUP on the Shaw remote control until the mode key (CBL) flashes twice consecutively.

- Input 9 - 9 - 5 on the keypad.

- Press the Power button once.

- Press the mode key for the first device you want in the power sequence (e.g., CBL). Then, press Power once.

- Repeat step 4 to add the other devices you want included in the power sequence (e.g., AUD then power, TV then power).

- Press the mode key (CBL) once.

- Hold down the SETUP button until the CBL button blinks twice.

Locking Volume Controls to Audio Devices:

If you are using an audio system to control the volume while watching TV, it is possible to program your Shaw remote to lock the volume button so that it only operates with your stereo. To activate volume lock:

- Hold down the SETUP button until the mode key flashes twice consecutively.

- Enter the code 9 - 9 - 3.

- Press the mode key under which your audio system was programmed (AUD, AUX, etc.). This will lock the volume to that device.
