Aritzia's Community Care Program Provides Clothing to Healthcare Professionals.
When fashion meets philanthropy: The Aritzia Community Care Program is going the extra mile. The program, which is aimed at helping Canadian healthcare workers, offers free clothes as well as an opportunity for shoppers to contribute to the cause.
To show its appreciation for frontline female healthcare workers dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, Aritzia will be donating $10 million worth of care packages. The aim is to double that amount with the help of community support. Each care package includes two of the brand's iconic T-shirts in assorted colors, as well as two pairs of leggings.
Only licensed female healthcare workers, such as nurses, doctors, and healthcare aides working at hospitals, assessment centers, and long-term care homes in Canada, are eligible for this program. Registrations for this unique initiative begin on May 11 and will continue until all packages are claimed.
Besides providing free clothing, the brand has also redesigned its heart logo with a special edition to express gratitude towards healthcare providers and their selfless work.
If you'd like to get involved, you can purchase a care package at either $100 or $200, which generously includes two-piece sets of T-shirts and leggings made with high-stretch or sweat-wicking fabric. Each purchase sponsors two care packages that will be given to healthcare workers.
The online purchase option comes with additional shipping fees and starts on May 5, with the first wave of orders expected to ship later this month. Aritzia recognizes the urgency for these clothes, given healthcare workers' needs to have clean and separate clothes while travelling to and from their workplace. While the brand is not producing personal protective equipment like other companies such as Roots, Canada Goose, and Bauer, they're doing their part by supplying uncontaminated clothing to the brave individuals dealing with COVID-19.
