Air Fryer Hot Pocket Cooking Guide

Air fryer hot pockets are an ideal snack or light lunch when you're pressed for time. Preparing hot pockets in an air fryer is quick and easy, yielding perfectly cooked pockets every time!

Air fryer cooking allows you to achieve a delectable hot pocket or pizza pocket, with a crispy crust on the outside and melted cheese nestled within. Compared to oven baking, air frying is faster, and the results are more tantalizing than microwaving, even when using a crisper sleeve. This is why the air fryer is my go-to kitchen appliance!

Air frying is ideal for frozen foods, and you will always get crispy results. Below are some of my favorite frozen foods to air fry: air fryer frozen pizza, air fryer pizza rolls, air fryer spring rolls, and air fryer mac and cheese bites.

Frozen pizza pockets from any brand may be used - Hot Pockets, McCain pizza pockets, Pizza Pops or Amy's Pizza Pocket Sandwich all work great.

Although optional, brushing or spraying the pizza pocket with cooking oil makes the dough crisp up much sooner, providing an extra-crispy crust that tastes like it was deep-fried!

Air frying hot pockets typically takes around 15 minutes. While the air fryer's strength affects the cooking time, hot pockets must reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F for proper cooking. When in doubt, use an instant-read thermometer to check for desired temperature.

Can you air fry hot pockets? Yes! Essentially, air frying hot pockets is the best way of cooking them. You may also air fry other frozen foods.

Should you air fry frozen hot pockets? Always cook hot pockets from frozen. Avoid defrosting them beforehand to prevent them from becoming soggy.

Are hot pockets better in the oven or microwave? Without question, air fryer hot pockets are the best. Once you've tried them, you'll undoubtedly never cook hot pockets any other way.

Step-by-Step Guide to Preparing Air Fryer Hot Pockets

If you crave a quick and easy snack that can be ready within minutes, give air fryer hot pockets a try. With the perfect balance of flavors and unbeatable convenience, these golden-brown hot pockets are sure to satisfy your hunger cravings. Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to prepare them perfectly.

What You'll Need:

  • - 2 frozen hot pockets
  • - Cooking oil (optional)
  • - Instant-read thermometer
  • Instructions:

1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F [Note 1]. While preheating, take your hot pockets out of the freezer, and unwrap them.

2. Place the hot pockets in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch for optimal cooking results.

3. Lightly brush or spray the hot pockets with cooking oil (optional).

4. Cook the hot pockets in the air fryer for 12-18 minutes or until they turn golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F or higher. Make sure to use an instant-read thermometer to check the temperature.

5. Once done, carefully remove the hot pockets from the air fryer. Keep in mind that they will be hot inside, so consume with care.

6. Enjoy your freshly cooked hot pockets!

    1. Avoid using the crisper sleeve in the air fryer because it can cause uneven cooking.
